Explore the wonderfully unpredictable process of western paper marbling and learn how to create decorative papers using floating inks and carefully controlled patterns. We’ll introduce you to the basic techniques and show you how different movements and combinations of colour can create unique marbled surfaces.
You will learn:
How to prepare paper for marbling.
How to mix and use a traditional marbling bath.
Techniques for creating vibrant colour and pattern.
How to produce your own unique marbled papers.
Your finished papers can be used for bookbinding, wrapping paper, cards, collage and many other creative projects. No previous experience is needed and the workshop is open to all ability levels. All materials and equipment are included, so you can simply come along and enjoy experimenting with this fascinating and slightly magical process.
