Drawing from Memory - The Drawing Series

£30.00

Tue 8th Dec | 2pm–5pm

This workshop invites you to leave observational drawing behind and explore what happens when you draw from memory. You’ll begin with a treasured memory, using photographs, diary entries, holiday itineraries or family heirlooms as prompts if you wish. We’ll explore how much we can recall and how memory can alter the way we represent people, places and objects.

Memory can bring emotion, atmosphere and personal meaning into a drawing. We’ll consider how our thoughts and feelings can influence the marks we make and how a remembered object can become something very different when translated through drawing. The workshop is open to all ability levels and is a chance to explore a more personal and expressive approach to drawing. Materials and equipment are provided.
