We often draw the things we see in front of us, but how does our drawing change when the object we are looking at is something we have made ourselves? In this workshop, we’ll begin by sculpting and building a physical relationship with an object before using it as the subject for our drawings.
The tactile experience of making your sculpture will influence the way you observe and respond to it, encouraging a more personal approach to drawing. We’ll look at artists who explore similar ideas and use a range of exercises to consider how making, touching and observing can all become part of the drawing process. The workshop is open to all ability levels, with materials and equipment provided.
