In this experimental workshop, we’ll take drawing beyond the flat surface and use it as the starting point for making a sculpture. We’ll explore how space, volume and physical materials can change the way we think about drawing, turning ideas on paper into something three-dimensional.
Depending on your interests, we’ll work with either portraiture or still life as the starting point for our sculptures. This is a chance to think differently about composition and discover how making in three dimensions can feed back into your drawing practice. The workshop is open to all ability levels and is particularly suited to anyone who enjoys experimenting and trying something a little different. Materials and equipment are provided.
