Following on from our portraiture explorations, this workshop introduces colour as another way of understanding and building a face. We’ll look at artists who use colour expressively and explore how warm and cool colours can help transform a flat portrait into something that feels more sculptural and dimensional.
You don’t need to have attended the previous Portraiture workshop to take part, making this a standalone session as well as a natural next step for those who have already explored portraiture with us. The workshop is open to all ability levels and is designed to make experimenting with colour approachable and enjoyable. Materials and equipment are provided.
You will learn:
Core observational drawing techniques.
Ways to build confidence through expressive mark-making.
How to use line, tone and colour to create depth and character.
