In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll be introduced to the basics of bookbinding and create your own soft-back sketchbook to take home. Alongside practical techniques, we’ll share examples of artists and radical collectives who have used bookbinding as a way of sharing knowledge, stories and ideas.
We’ll also introduce some of the other bookbinding methods that could be explored in future workshops.
No experience is needed, and all basic materials will be provided. Additional materials, including hand-marbled papers made by Samsam, will also be available if you’d like to personalise your book. You may also wish to join one of our paper marbling workshops and use your own marbled papers for your sketchbook.
