Dates: Sat 4th, 11th & 18th July | 6pm - 9pm
Collagraph is a wonderfully tactile and experimental form of relief printmaking. In this process, textured materials and found objects are attached to a rigid surface to create a raised printing plate, which is then inked and printed using our Victorian Albion Press.
During the session, we’ll look at inspiring examples of collagraph prints, experiment with textures and materials and learn how to ink, prepare paper and print your own work.
No experience is needed, and all basic materials will be provided. If you’d like to explore more advanced collagraph techniques, you’re welcome to attend multiple sessions.
If you enjoy this workshop, let us know, as we’d love to develop a longer 5 to 10-week course exploring collagraph printmaking in greater depth.
You will learn:
How to build a collagraph printing plate using found materials
Techniques for inking and printing textured surfaces
Ways to experiment with texture, layering and composition
